✨ GETTING HERE + ARRIVAL FLOW

Where is the venue?
The Evergreen is located at 618 SE Alder St, Portland, OR 97214.
Look for a historic brick building with large windows. The entrance is next to the Loyal Legion bar, on Alder Street. Look for “The Evergreen” sign.
How should I get there?
You can drive, take a rideshare (Uber/Lyft), or use public transit. TriMet Trip Planner is great for finding your route by bus or streetcar. There’s a bike rack out front if you’re rolling in on two wheels.
Where can I park?
Parking in this area can be pretty difficult. Please allow 15–20 minutes to find a spot if you’re driving.
The closest paid lots will be: Star Park Alder Street Garage (directly across the street at 615 SE Alder) and City Center Parking Lot (SE Morrison & SE 6th), about 2 blocks south
When should I arrive?
The doors open at 5:00 PM and we ask everyone to be seated upstairs between then and 5:15 PM.
There will be a sound bath to open the ceremony and once it begins, we’ll be keeping the space quiet and sacred. Please arrive early enough to park, find the entrance, and settle in peacefully.
Early?
If you arrive a little early, you can always wait at Loyal Legion downstairs. It’s a great place to hang out if you’re early, but please make your way upstairs by 5:00 so we can begin on time.
🔔 CEREMONY ETIQUETTE + VIBE
How should I be in the space during the ceremony?
Once you come upstairs, please turn off your phone completely and keep conversation to a whisper or silence. We’re beginning with a sound bath and want to create a deeply grounded, present space for everyone.
There’s no assigned seating (except for some reserved family spots), so sit wherever you like.
Can I take photos or use my phone?
Please power your phone off (not just silenced) during the ceremony. Be a good friend and help your friends to power their phones off too. 😉
This is an unplugged and sacred space: no screens, no texting, no glowing rectangles.
We’ve hired a professional photographer to capture all the beauty, and we’ll share those photos with you afterward.
You might also notice a couple of our talented friends discreetly using their own cameras, they’re part of the magic too.
After the ceremony, please keep phone use minimal until about 9:00 PM, when the photographer finishes. If you must text or take a call, be a pal and just step outside.
✨ But wait! ✨
During the reception, you’ll find disposable cameras on the tables. Use them! Snap the joy, the weird dance moves, the late-night antics.
🦋 WHAT TO WEAR
What’s the vibe again?
Wear whatever makes you feel fabulous, comfortable, and ready to dance!
The theme is Moth and Moon, honoring the Waxing Gibbous with a blend of sacred, magical, witchy, dapper, playful, and nature-honoring. Think flowy and ethereal and darkly romantic, velvet, shimmer, forest tones, ivory, silver, shadow. We’ll be in moon-muted, forest tones, but you do you. The vibe is sacred and celebratory, not formal. Feel free to go off.
🍽️ FOOD & DRINK
Will I be fed?
Yes! We’re doing family-style service with enough deliciousness for everyone.
If you RSVP’d for a vegetarian meal, you should’ve received a confirmation. Didn’t? Let us know.
What if I’m gluten-free?
You’ll be able to make it work. Just skip the bread and choose your own adventure from the offerings. There are also gluten-free desserts. We got you.
Will there be non-alcoholic drinks?
Yes. We’ve got a solid spread of NA beverages, in addition to beer, cider, and wine.
🧒 KIDS
Can I bring my child?
Yes, with some loving boundaries. If your child can sit quietly for the 45-minute ceremony without electronic devices, they are welcome. We’re aiming to create a sacred, unplugged space, so we ask that any children attending are able to participate in that spirit.
Just a heads-up: the venue is located in a lively part of Portland surrounded by bars, karaoke spots, and dance clubs (not parks or green space). If your child needs to step outside, options are limited. We trust you to make the call that feels right for your family, and we appreciate your help in holding this space with us.
🎁 REGISTRY / GIFTS
Do you have a registry?
We do, but it’s not a blender situation. Instead of traditional gifts, we’re raising funds for Good Health Nepal / Acupuncture Relief Project, the community that hosted our temple wedding in Nepal and where Bex has volunteered for 10+ years. This is our way of spreading love back across the world.
You can donate here.
♿ ACCESSIBILITY
Is the venue accessible?
Yes. There’s an elevator up to the main event space, and all parts of the night happen in one building.
Let us know if there’s anything else you need. We want everyone to feel welcome and comfortable.
